I stumbled across this beautiful anitque shop in Shropshire.

Most of the items are from Rajasthan. Shop is called Wilstone. It is a fascinating collection of timeless and inspiring pieces that are made in India using traditional skills and natural materials, for both indoor and outdoor spaces. From the old to the new, all pieces are made by highly skilled artisans from across the subcontinent.

Rich with history, Wilstone has many unique pieces which have been rescued from crumbling buildings or re-purposed to fit a new use.

Wilstone takes their beautiful products to some of the most prestigious horticultural shows each year, transporting people to Indian temples.

Step into a world of dripping ferns, gushing gullies and sweeping treetop vistas… Coed Felinrhyd & Llennyrch is a rare, Atlantic oak woodland covers 310-hectares (765-acres) and one of our largest woods in Wales. The woods date back an astonishing 10,000 years to the last ice age. These ancient places, found above the Vale of Ffestiniog, are two of Europe’s best remaining examples of Atlantic oak woodland, otherwise known as temperate rainforest.

Coed Felinrhyd & Llennyrch covers 310-hectares (765-acres) in the Snowdonia National Park, and stretches from Llyn Trawsfynydd in the east and almost to the meeting of the Prysor and tidal Dwyryd rivers in the west. Park for free at the layby on the A469 towards Harlech.

Walk down towards the Hydropower station passing its entrance on your left. Cross the stone bridge and turn immediately left through a wooden gate. The trail starts at the Woodland Trust ‘Welcome/Croeso’ post.

Beddgelert Picturesque Bridge

Stone bridge over River Colwyn in Beddgelert, North Wales

Beddgelert is one of the prettiest and villages in Snowdonia. The pristine sound of flowing water, clean air and greenery makes this little village heaven on earth. It stands in a valley at the confluence of the River Glaslyn and River Colwyn. Just above the confluence of the rivers, in the centre of the village, is the old stone bridge with two arches. It is well placed as a base to visit the wider area. The centre is pretty with a craft centre, excellent ice cream parlour and delightful walk along the banks of the river. The folk tale of the faithful hound “Gelert” is often associated with the village. A raised mound in the village is called “Gelert’s Grave” and is a significant tourist attraction.

The UK, Britain, Great Britain, The British Isles, England… Are the terms interchangeable? Most of the time, the answer has to be no. But sometimes they are, and everyone uses the wrong name from time to time, including the English… or rather the British. Even people that live here seem to get the UK confused with Britain – the terms are often used interchangeably. The UK is short for The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland… quite a mouthful! It is a sovereign state but is made up of four countries; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is not a country; it’s a landmass (Geographical Term). It is known as ‘Great’ because it is the largest island in the British Isles, and houses the countries of England, Scotland and Wales within its shores. Confusion is understandable! The name Britain is used for national sports teams and in many formal settings. The explanation lies partly in tradition, and partly in the grammar, because there is no corresponding adjective for the name ” United Kingdom”.
